About: Sunaina Arya is a pioneer in Dalit feminism, with her path-breaking works including Dalit Feminist Theory: A Reader (Routledge, 2019) and many others. She received an Honorable Mention in the Bluestone Rising Scholar Prize 2019 for her seminal article “Dalit or Brahminical Patriarchy: Rethinking Indian feminism”. She co-edited the Gender special issue of Caste: A Global Journal on Social Exclusion with her powerful editorial “Theorising Gender in South Asia: Dalit Feminist Perspective”, published by Brandeis University, Massachusetts. She is a staunch Ambedkarite speaker of international repute and has been instrumental in theorising Ambedkar's feminism through her writings. She also serves on the committee for the Just Futures Initiative (JFI) in Nepal, supported by Ford Foundation.
